|| Wednesday Wants - #1 ||

So it's the middle of the week, I've tried and tested treats I got myself at the weekend and I'm too impatient to wait for the next chance to treat myself! Guess what? I've made my first " Wednesday Wants" post.

Each Wednesday I'll be posting that weeks mid week "wants."

I'm going to choose 1 thing I want from four different categories; home ware, fashion, accessories and of course make-up.

Here's this weeks Wednesday Wants:

♥ Chanel Aqualumiere gloss in shade: Glass Quartz (£20.00)

You'll see a pattern in this weeks Wednesday Wants. All beautiful spring shades! This lip product has accumulated an amazing 4.9 out of 5 rating on the ever trusty make up alley website.

♥ ASOS skate dress in Nepi with scoop back (£25.00)

Delightful colour and perfect style dress for my shape! I want!

♥ Cath Kidston spring bouquet duvet cover (£52.00)

All my duvet sets are flowery and I don't intend to change it anytime soon!

♥ Pieces gelastic peace, hope and harmony bracelet. ASOS (£7.00)

This is such a little spring treasure, cheap, adorable and perfect to add cuteness to any spring outfit

What are your wants of the week? See anything you like?

|| Sunshine makes the world go round... ||

I'm not sure about you guys, but the sunshine really does bring out my best side.

My delightful sunny day in photographic form ♥

What better way to celebrate the sunshine than with a cup of tea and some home made caramel shortbread

Beautiful daffodils in my new vase.

Sunshine is the only thing that ever motivates me to move my booty!

|| Delightful little LUSH product... Banishes blemishes and controls us oily buggers! ||

I'm just going to jump straight in there and say it, I'm not skinny, I don't have perfect skin, I'm very partial to blemishes and have oily issues.

Oily skin means whilst every girl on the planet (in my mind) waltzes round with beautifully done make up, no shine, lovely dewy-licious looking skin, I sit in the corner blotting and feel every inch of carefully place make up slide away.

I hide from natural lighting, I wear double wear foundation through all weather (even 40 degree heat in Greece) and quite frankly I'm done with that!

I want to be a dewy goddess too! Well... This little beauty might well help me on my travels!

What is it: Dark Angels charcoal facial cleanser

Where is it from: LUSH

RRP: £6.25 per 100g

Is it amazing for oily/combination skin: Quite frankly incredible!

The featured ingredient is: charcoal. I was a little skeptical at first, but fear not, it's an absolute delight! It was created for oilier skins and contains; rhassoul mud, charcoal and black sugar which are combined to make a very absorbent and exfoliating cleanser.

As I said above, I was a little skeptical, but after my first use I fell in love! My pores are very noticeable and this minimised them and cleared them out completely, it left my face feeling so smooth and fresh with no tightness! What more could you ask for?

It makes my skin noticeably healthier looking which I absolutely love and I have been feeling so good without make up on which NEVER happens!

If you have oily/combination skin I would highly recommend trying this product, it's an essential in my shower routine and a fraction of any high end prices!

What cleansers do you like? Can you recommend any other lovely LUSH products?

|| Clinique - Chubby Stick Intense Review - Heftiest Hibiscus ||

This little chubby stick of joy!

Brand: Clinique

RRP: £16

Shade: Heftiest Hibiscus

As you can see from the pictures, this chubby stick is an absolutely beautiful orangey/red coloured lip stain. It adds an instant pop of colour and makes any boring day a bright one! It's ridiculously easy to apply with an absolute no fuss guarantee, which is perfect for a lazy bones like me!

Staying power isn't as good as I previously thought but still incredible and does stain your lips for 2-4 hours after application depending on your lifestyle (food, drink, workouts etc.)

All in all its safe to say this will be a favourite in my make up bag with spring just around the corner!

Have you tried them before? What's your favourite shade?

|| Put A Spring In Your Curvy Step With These Plus Size Spring Dresses ||

Being a "curvy" (festively plump all year round) type of girl, I never feel as though I can go in to a shop and pick up whatever I like and assume it'll look nice.

It didn't take me very long to come to the conclusion that "skater" styled dresses are what suit me and my beloved curves the best.

I like something that nips me in at the waist and then flows outwards leaving all of my lumps and bumps to the imagination!

This being said I decided as spring is (hopefully) round the corner I would show you my top four beautiful "skater" styled dresses perfect for spring.

All the dresses shown are from the ASOS website and are under £40 - they all go to a size 18 and some up to size 30.

Do you think the fashion world caters for curvier ladies like myself? What style dress suits you?

|| Got The Friday Feeling And Went WILD ||

So, it's Friday! Friday means I'm excited, me excited means I need to spend £££'s!

I thought I'd show you all what I (accidentally) purchased after my early finish at work today!

1. - I started off small and cheap and purchased 2x Burts Bees lip balms. I've never tried these before, I picked up the bees wax one and a nourishing one. I've been wearing the nourishing one on my lips this afternoon and evening and its safe to say it feels delightful!

2. - Well, after my small and inexpensive purchase, I popped into Fat Face to see if they had anything "smart/casual" I could pick up to wear tomorrow (Saturday) as I've got a house viewing at the most adorable little cottage ever! So enough rambling, I was very quickly distracted when I saw this beautiful tan leather hand bag. I didn't look at the price tag (£80) and marched straight for the till. I can't say I regret it! She's beautiful.

3. - Is a different shot of the same above beautiful bag. It's still available to purchase online @ www.fatface.com

4. - The second purchase of the day from Fat Face - the most adorable every day bracelet in the world. Little silver hearts swimming round together on a bracelet - irresistible! And only £12 eee!

5. - An absolute wardrobe must have! The little black skater skirt. This one has a bit of a twist, the skirt has a fake leather bottom to it as you can see in the picture, I think this gives it a bit of an edge. A complete steal at £19.99!

6. - A better shot of the above staple item.

7. - Urban Decay XXL all nighter setting spray - make up must have for an oily making machine like myself. I currently use the UD de-slick setting spray but a girl at the counter advised this would be better when I went to re purchase today. Well worth the £18.50 if you have oily skin or just want to keep your make up in place all day!

8. - Something that's a little unusual for me... A scarf with bones on, yes bones! Strange. But in the perfect colour combination for me, the classic black and white. £16 from River Island.

9. - Barry M Gelly nail polish in "Plum" - absolutely love this range from Barry M, does the job perfectly and doesn't chip for days.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the accidental purchases I made!

Will you be doing any shopping this weekend? Do you see anything I've mentioned that you like?

Have a lovely weekend, @barbieandpie

What's in my makeup bag...

What's in my makeup bag #1

Today's post is going to be the much loved "what's in my make up bag" tag! Before we jump in, I thought I'd let you know the sort of things I look for when purchasing make up and my skin type.

Firstly, I'm a full coverage kind of gal, when I wear make up I'm all or nothing. Done up to the nines or bare as a babies bottom!

The reason for my love of full coverage, is my much loved (not) oily skin! The only products that seem to keep on my skin are the full coverage ones - which is how our love started!

Below is my beloved Cath Kidston make-up bag, I got it in the sale and absolutely j'adore it! You can still pick it up in store and online @ www.cathkidston.com

First of all, I start off with prepping my skin ready for the glorious amount of products I will be using!

Clinique moisteriser - Oil free with an SPF of 25, absolutely brilliant moisteriser and great for keeping my oily skin at bay.

Urban Decay 'De-slick' Setting spray - a setting spray that really does do the trick! keeps my make-up in place all day long.

Benefit 'Porefessional' - absolutely incredible product to minimise pores!

Although below looks like a lot of products, these are the products I use after prepping my skin...

Estee Lauder double wear foundation - my number 1 foundation and would recommend to anybody who like the fuller coverage with oily skin! holy grail material.

Collection 2000 concealer - every girl should have this in their collection!

Estee Lauder double wear loose powder - sets my holy grail foundation in perfect position for the day!

Sleek contour kit in the shade 'medium' - although a little dark, absolute bargain price at around the £8 mark and blends beautifully...obviously comparable to the 'Nars; Laguna' bronzer.

Real techniques buffing brush - buffs my foundation in wonderfully.

Estee Lauder large powder brush.

MAC Powder blush in 'Pink Swoon' - gives a lovely dolly/perfectly pinched look to your rosey cheeks.

Dior Amber Diamond - A very luxurious product; fine highlighting powder which doesnt make lines, wrinkles or pores obvious, just gives a perfect glowy look.

When it comes to my eyes, I'm extremely boring (lets face it I have already used half of my products to try and get the perfect skin, so by the time I get to my eyes I'm past caring!)

YSL Shocking Mascara in Black - does what it says on 'the tin'

Elizabeth Arden eyelash curlers - give a beautiful full curl to any dull/short lashes!

24 Colour tattoo - goes perfectly with blue eyes!

Boots own brow brush - tames my lioness brows!

Lips & favourite perfume

MAC Lustre in Syrup - day wear lipstick!

MINT scrub from Lush - does a great job at getting rid of any problem dry skin!

Amor Amor - absolutely beautiful smelling perfume!

Here is the finished look! I hope you enjoyed!

A country girl with flowery needs!

Typical country girl...

I am a country girl, through and through! I was born and raised with straw hanging out my mouth and Hunters on my feet.

Now I live in the city of Bristol the green I see is minimal. This being said I still like to buy things for my house that make me feel countrified!

Yesterday I popped in to TK Maxx (it's all very new to me) and found this absolute bargain...

The floral jug was in the home section (obviously) and I spotted it on the top shelf, the RRP was £29.99 and I got it for £12.99, I think these are the sort of thing every country loving girly girl should have!

The jug is photographed above with my very worn Hunter wellies and some daffodiles placed inside. Although they havent flowered yet, they were £1 from Tesco, absolute bargain! When they do flower I think they'll look absolutely gorgeous and brighten up my flat no end!

Do you have a favourite countrified homeware piece? What are your favourite flowers?
